David Drucker, MD

David Drucker, MD attended Haverford College in Pennsylvania where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He attended medical school at the University of Rochester, in New York where he graduated with honors. Following his internship at Rochester General Hospital, he completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Rochester. He then completed a two-year fellowship in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery at the University of Washington in Seattle.

Dr. Drucker is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and he is a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

In 1993, Dr. Drucker founded Retina Consultants. He then opened a second office in Bellevue, in 2003, to provide the same excellence in vitreoretinal care to the eastside of Lake Washington.

Dr. Drucker is an experienced surgeon who treats vitreoretinal conditions with the latest surgical techniques. He was among the first surgeons in the Seattle area to employ “no-stitch” 25 gauge vitrectomy for repair of vitreoretinal diseases. Dr. Drucker stays on the leading edge of innovative surgical techniques, and primarily operates at Northwest Hospital in Seattle, and Overlake Hospital in Bellevue.

He enjoys sports and boating, but most of all, spending time with his wife and five children.

Jason E. Lee, MD

Jason E. Lee, MD, received a bachelor of science in biology at Yale University, where he was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa society and graduated with honors. He earned a medical degree at New York University School of Medicine. Following an internship at Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco, he completed a residency in ophthalmology at the University of Arizona, where he served as chief resident and received multiple awards for academic excellence. He pursued a two-year retina fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, where he performed a high volume of advanced surgical cases at Parkland Memorial Hospital, John Peter Smith Hospital, and Children’s Medical Center. He has been in private practice as a vitreoretinal surgeon since 2009.

Dr. Lee is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and he is a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He serves as a trustee on the board of the Washington Association of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, and he is a member of the Washington State Medical Association. He enjoys playing squash, snowboarding, photography, and traveling with his wife.

Pranjal Thakuria, MD

Pranjal Thakuria, MD, completed his undergraduate work at Yale University, receiving a degree in biology. He received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. He then completed his internship in medicine at MetroHealth Medical Center, Case Western Reserve University, followed by ophthalmology residency at Summa Health System in Akron, Ohio, where he served as chief resident. Dr. Thakuria completed his fellowship in uveitis at the Massachusetts Eye Research and Surgery Institution in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He then completed his fellowship in medical retina at the Duke University Eye Center in Durham, North Carolina.

Dr. Thakuria is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He has published numerous articles on uveitis and retinal diseases and is a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Thakuria enjoys photography and spending time outdoors with his wife and daughter.

Allen Hu, M.D.

Allen Hu, M.D. joined Retina Consultants in 2011. He earned his medical degree from the University of California, San Diego, and dual degrees with honors in biological sciences and economics from Stanford University. He interned at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego and completed an ophthalmology residency and a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA Medical Center.

Dr. Hu is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. As a clinical instructor at the Jules Stein Eye Institute, he was a co-investigator in the country’s first clinical trial using RPE cells to treat macular degeneration. He has published several research studies in leading journals, including Ophthalmology, Retina, and American Journal of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Hu is fluent in English, Mandarin Chinese, Taiwanese and Spanish. He enjoys sports, traveling and spending time exploring the Pacific Northwest with his wife and son.
